As you move closer to your wedding day, the excitement and anticipation are palpable.
It’s time to dive into those crucial details that will make your wedding truly unforgettable. In this phase of your wedding planning journey, which falls 6-9 months before the big day, here’s a detailed guide on what you should be doing:
1. Choose Your Wedding Color Scheme
One of the first creative decisions you’ll make is selecting your color scheme. This can be overwhelming, but tools like Wedding Wire’s Color Scheme Generator can help you find the perfect palette that resonates with your vision. Be sure to think about the time of year you are getting married. The season in which you’re getting married can influence your color choices. Bright and vibrant colors work well for spring and summer weddings, while deeper and more muted tones are suitable for fall and winter weddings. You will also want to take into account the colors and decorations that pair well with your wedding venue. Your color scheme should complement the surroundings and not clash with them. A great source of inspiration can be your venue’s social media pages. See what goes well and what doesn’t.
2. Find the Perfect Florist
Begin the search for a florist who aligns with your style and budget. You will want to get quotes from a few different florists. Most of which can all be done or started on their websites. Be sure to have in-depth conversations with each one, and choose the one you vibe with the most. You will be working very closely with this person to help bring all of your ideas to life. If you are having difficulties nailing down a florist ask your venue! They work with florists just about every weekend. So, they should have some great recommendations for you. Another resource would be to checkout the venue’s Instagram page. See which florists they are tagging or who is tagging them. Then you can see how they decorate the venue you chose specifically!
At 7F, we have a team of “Friendors” that we work with regularly and recommend in our digital Welcome Packet. This packet is instrumental in helping our couples stay on task. It also has resources and vendors just a click away.
3. Select Your Cake Designer/Baker
Schedule a cake tasting session with potential cake designers or bakers. Taste test different flavors and designs to find the perfect cake for your celebration. You might also look around for any local wedding expo’s or open houses that are scheduled in your area. This is a great opportunity to get a small taste of what your cake and dessert vendors have to offer without having to have a formal sit down meeting.
If you’ve booked with us at 7F, expect to receive a questionnaire and menu around this time. You will have a cake from Fabulous Fare included in your all inclusive wedding package. Now you just have to narrow down the flavors. Be sure to have pencil and paper when tasting. Once you’ve mixed flavors together you will want to remember what the exact combination was!
4. Arrange Accommodations for Guests
Call local hotels to inquire about room blocks for out-of-town guests. Consider where YOU plan to stay on the night of the wedding. You will need to arrange for transportation. If your venue has onsite lodging, that’s a bonus!
Be sure to check out 7F Lodge’s Bed and Breakfast cabins. We offer a truly unique experience for our guests who choose to stay on the property. As a result of this distinctive approach, 7F Lodge consistently garners incredibly positive feedback from not only our couples but also from their delighted guests. 6. Discuss Attire with Your Wedding Party
Have a conversation with your wedding party about specific colors, details, or styles for their dresses or suits. Ensure everyone is on the same page and feels comfortable with their attire choices. Having this conversation ahead of time will ensure there aren’t any unexpected situations day of. Think about sending options or choices to the wedding party. This way they still feel like they are a part of the collaboration.
7. Flower Girl and Ring Bearer Attire
You will want the little ones to feel comfortable in their outfits so, consider the season and climate. Don’t forget to accessorize to enhance their adorable presence and for photos sake. By paying attention to the details of their attire, you’ll ensure that they not only complement your wedding vision but also feel confident and excited to play their special roles in your big day.
